morning nugget from: Ps. 1:1-6:10; Lk. 22:1-23

Psalm 1.1 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!

How often the path of the wicked begins through walking with the wrong
crowd. Not a big deal, because I can just as easily walk away. Except
the next time I find myself stand in the path, where I start becoming
passive. Accepting. Not really doing anything …just standing. And I can
start walking away any time. But if I don’t take action, once I get
comfortable and complacent, I find myself taking a seat. Just like that,
I’ve allowed myself to be taken out.

But thank God we, as children of light, can experience a different
progression in our lives. Our path starts through the finished work of
Jesus (sitting). We do not fight for victory; we fight from victory
(standing). And we live in newness of life (walking). Our position in
Christ is one of sitting (Eph 2:6), our life in the world is one of
walking (Eph 4:1), and our attitude toward Satan is one of standing (Eph
6:11).

May we spend our days wisely, with intention, and according to His plan.

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in his law he medicates day and night.

6 For the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the wicked will perish.
