Christ in africa…

Witch doctors come to Christ

Yamba L. was the leading debia (native doctor) in an African village. As the chief debia in the community, he had ten other debias under his command. When church planters came they discovered Yamba was a ‘man of peace’. After going through an inductive bible study, he surrendered his life to Christ and willingly burnt all his charms and amulets in the middle of the village square. This scene attracted the attention of the entire village that considered him to have gone mad. Pa Yamba seized the opportunity and told them about his newly found faith and how he received Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Forty people gave their lives to Christ through his testimony. The other ten debias also became Christ followers and dedicated their homes to be prayer centers for the salvation of other debias in the nation.

Moses was a former prisoner, sentenced for a very serious crime. After becoming a Christ follower he was employed as an office assistant. However, he developed a passion to be a church planter. On an early assignment he entered a village with his team member. Within hours of their arrival the Paramount chief’s senior wife died. They introduced themselves to the chief as men of prayer and asked him to pray for his wife while the grave diggers dug. Eventually she sneezed, then sat up and asked for water. People were astonished at the power of God.
